This is my last semester at Southern Connecticut State University. I am ecstatic about graduation in May and obtaining my Bachelors of arts in English. I recently got accepted into the University of Bridgeport where I will begin my Master of Science in Education. The program is accelerated and I will graduate in nine months. I am super thrilled to know I will have my masters next May. With this degree I will be certified to teach Elementary Education as well as work in a cooperation to train individuals within the company. This master degree gives me enormous potential to work for a school system or any business essentially. I still have not decided if I want to pursue an education career or work for a company so, I am happy this program gives me the option to do both. Over the last four years at Southern, I have enjoyed my English major. I feel that an English major prepares you to work in essentially any field. It is important to have verbal and written communication skills. In any type of field position, one must be able to express his or her ideas through writing, even if the writing is conducted through email, which we learned about in the professional communication YouTube videos this week. Outside of school, I am a swim instructor at The Penguin Swim School. Here, I teach children and adults ages two and up how to swim and about water safety. The lessons are offered private and semi-private. I am hoping to do well and enjoy EDU 106 as I conclude my time here at Southern.
